Located in the heart of Hockney country, close to the location of many of his best known paintings of trees, and next to the village with the famous Warter trees. Ideally situated for walkers wishing to explore the Yorkshire Wolds and Moors, with the long distance walk, the Minster Way, passing through the village, and the Wolds Way close by. Excellent country pub adjacent serving good quality, locally produced, bar meals. It has an attractive cottage garden and BBQ. Parking available for 2 cars at the cottage. It sleeps three people comfortably with a Z-bed for a fourth person. All linen, heating and electricity included. It has an open fire plus modern electric heating and CD/DVD player.

LATEST NEWS.......the close by PIPE & GLASS pub in neighbouring South Dalton (only 7.6 miles away and 21 minutes by car) , was recently voted the "Pub of the Year " in the Michelin Eating Out Pubs Guide 2012. It already has a Michelin star (awarded in 2010). The guide's editor said the pub offered something extra special including "the warmth of the welcome, the friendliness of the staff, the character of the place and refined yet hearty food" Worth a visit!

It is home to over 800 attractions, from breweries to museums, castles to zoos, and World Heritage Sites to breathtaking rides. There are many popular seaside resorts along its coastline, including Whitby, Bridlington and Scarborough, as well as quieter villages and working harbours nestled among the rugged cliffs. The North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and part of the Peak District National Park offer wonderful opportunities for walkers, cyclists and climbers, as well as nature reserves for bird spotters and naturalists. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
